General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Lawson Elliott are supporting one of their clients for the recruitment of a Business Manager, to join their highly regarded independent school here in Brisbane.
The role will be reporting directly to the Principal, the Business Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality learning and teaching in a school environment through efficient financial and business management.

The primary responsibilities include assisting the Principal in overseeing all aspects of business administration, finance, risk management, and the management and development of resources, property, and facilities.
The Business Manager also shares in the leadership of the school's vision, mission, and strategic priorities, contributing significantly to the overall management and community life of the school.
The ideal candidate will possess substantial leadership experience along with a strong financial and business background.

You will: Provide strategic direction on school spending, budgets, assets, site and building management, finances, fees, and non-educational data analysis.
Manage daily accounting procedures and financial operations in an educational context, including accounts payable and receivable, banking processes and reconciliations, preparation of monthly financial reports, asset management, and risk management.
Plan, organize, and oversee maintenance, building, and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and quality standards.
Implement debt recovery strategies that honor the dignity of families.
Prepare detailed reports for the Principal and the school finance committee regarding budgets, assets, cash flow, liabilities, and insurance matters.
Oversee debt recovery and asset management processes.
Supervise Flexi-schools operations in collaboration with the Finance Secretary.
Ensure effective workplace health and safety management and coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance.
Assist the Principal in managing school support and operational staff, including developing and maintaining accurate role descriptions and overseeing performance management.
Engage, induct, and coordinate contractors working on school premises.
Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive schedule for facility and equipment maintenance.
