The Opportunity: The Business Development Specialist will facilitate Port of Newcastle's sales customer engagement, account, and growth opportunities. This role requires minimal supervision in these areas and will provide input at a strategic level, in the development of market intelligence and value proposition generation. The Business Development Specialist will have a wide exposure across PON's diversified trade business including containers, bulk, break-bulk, project cargo and property.
This is a diverse and collaborative role that is critical to building and enhancing trade relationships that enable Port of Newcastle to meet its diversification objectives. It requires a high level of proactiveness, communication and influencing skills.
What you will bring: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field are essential.
Your strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be well utilised when developing customer proposals, and a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines is a must.
You also thrive in an environment that works under pressure to meet deadlines and handle conflicting priorities with a high degree of attention to detail.
