The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.
The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.

Purpose of the role Reporting to the Manager, Business Performance, you will be a key member of the statewide development team providing high level technical, reporting and business support, advice and training to users of strategic Information Technology (IT) statewide system.
The Business Development Officer is responsible for contributing to the collation and reporting of regional data that supports the development, implementation and evaluation of operational plans, policies and procedures, including the collection of high quality data during large scale operations through management and support of IT and key information systems to contribute to the effective management of QFD operations.
Key requirements Highly desirable requirements Knowledge and experience in the management of database management systems.
Ability to create data visualisations and custom reports using dashboard tools (e.g.
Microsoft Power Bi and/or Microsoft reporting services) including SQL.
Special requirements Flexible working hours and intrastate travel may be a requirement of this position.
Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: Contribute to the development and implementation of data capture and state, and regionally driven processes with a focus on consistency and effective resource utilisation to ensure reporting needs can be achieved.
Conduct regular reviews and work with stakeholders to ensure high level data quality complies with audit requirements.
Prepare periodic and ad-hoc regional reports to support sound business planning and decision-making.
Maintain regional data to provide high quality information for operational performance management and other reporting requirements.
Analyse data and provide advice to key stakeholders to support the development and implementation of strategies to enhance regional capability.
Deliver training to staff in the use of strategic information management and performance planning/ management systems.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and contribute through information sharing and participation in pre-release systems testing and regional forums.
Contribute to an environment in which high quality services and continuous improvement processes are delivered to all levels of management and staff.
