Reporting to the Head of Business Development & Marketing, and working closely with principals, lawyers and the BD&M team, this role provides business development support in relation to tenders and pursuits, client relationship management, business development planning, marketing and brand awareness campaigns and client engagement activities to meet firm objectives.ResponsibilitiesTender and capability statement preparation to maintain existing panel appointments and win new business, including end-to-end project management, content creation, liaising and coordinating with internal stakeholdersInvolvement in BD planning for key client accounts and strategically important practice areas to drive growth and align with the firm strategySupporting the development and deployment of thought leadership content and other profiling activities to build brand awareness and position individual expertsManaging legal directory, award and industry submissions to position the firm as a market leaderPreparing lawyer CVs and profiles tailored to a specific marketing or BD purposeMaintaining tender related tools and resources, including CV library, tender database, and recognition registerContributing to development and implementation of tender and proposal best practice to improve outcomes and create efficienciesProviding input into the review and updating of website contentCollaborating with team members to produce effective marketing materialsEvent and sponsorship activation assistance, working with responsible team members, as required.The Successful CandidateIdeally, the successful candidate will have well developed, client-focused business development skills, be a good communicator who is self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the confidence to deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will demonstrate:Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, PR, or Journalism4+ years' experience in a similar role within a professional services or corporate environmentStrong level of business development and marketing knowledge and technical ability, particularly in the areas of tender and proposal preparation and management, marketing and business development planningHighly developed project management skills and ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlineStrong writing and editing skills, with the ability to understand and translate complex legal concepts into clear, engaging contentCommercial awareness and ability to develop client-focused materialsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines while displaying strong attention to detailFamiliarity with a CRM database such as DealCloud would be advantageousHighly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal clientsPositive attitude toward work and a desire to learn and develop the roleAbility to work autonomously and as part of a team, as requiredTeam player with a positive 'can do' attitude.The BenefitsWe offer a broad range of benefits to our people including:a firm laptop to support our agile working model;flexible working arrangements including a 9.5 day fortnight, working from home, purchase of leave options and public holiday swap policy;casual office environment with our dress for your day policy;access to our Health & Wellbeing program, BNWell, which supports the overall wellbeing of our people including a yearly health & wellbeing allowance and health & wellbeing day;andshared care parental policy with equal leave for mums and dads.How to ApplyTo make a confidential application, please click 'Apply Now' or contact Lucia McIvor, People & Culture Officer.Barry Nilsson is committed to being an inclusive law firm that employs and retains the best and most diverse talent.
