Job Overview:
The Business Development Manager – B2B Ingredients will be a key player in identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with high-profile customers, and spearheading sales growth in the B2B ingredients market. This role demands a robust background in sales and business development, with a proven track record in selling premium ingredients to businesses across the functional foods, nutraceuticals, and infant formula sectors.

You thrive on establishing business connections and building long-term and high-value sales relationships. You have in-depth knowledge and a passion for nutrition and innovation, with expertise in crafting persuasive proposals and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Your exceptional interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail are complemented by your established network within the functional foods, infant formula, and nutraceutical industries.

Key Responsibilities In This Role:
Market Analysis and Development
Conduct thorough market research to uncover new opportunities and analyse the competitive landscape.
Develop and implement strategic plans to significantly expand the company's market presence in the B2B ingredients sector.
Identify and engage potential clients and new markets for expansion.
Stay updated on market conditions, including supply, demand, and pricing dynamics.
Prepare monthly business review with your customer/distributor, including market insights, competitive, and segment trend.
Client Relationship Management
Establish and maintain robust relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
Understand client needs and deliver customised solutions that meet their specific requirements.
Negotiate with customers, ensure contracts in line with sales strategy, negotiation targets and legal principles
Address any concerns or conflicts raised by customer promptly and striving to reach win-win resolutions.
Sales and Revenue Growth
Formulate and execute sales strategies and close high end deals.
Generate ideas for innovation and new products/market combinations based on customer requests, develop business cases and internal possibilities and/or ensure the execution.
Track and analyse sales performance, providing comprehensive reports to senior management.
Collaboration and Leadership
Work closely with commercial and R&D, to ensure business objectives are seamlessly aligned.
Create and maintain compelling collateral that effectively supports and strengthens business partnerships.
Represent the company at major industry events, trade shows, and conferences, enhancing brand visibility and credibility.
Reporting and CRM Management
Utilise CRM tools to document customer interactions and manage a robust opportunity pipeline.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date customer profiles, preparing accurate forecasts and reports.
Lead daily and weekly meetings to drive exceptional results and optimise strategies.
Essential Skills and Education:
10+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally within the infant formula, nutraceuticals or ingredient industry.
Bachelor's degree in business/food science or a related field.
Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Comprehensive understanding of the B2B ingredients market.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Data driven decision making, analytical, digital savvy and CRM experience.
Willingness to travel as required.
Proven experience leveraging industry trade shows and events for strategic business development.
