This role will utilise their agronomic expertise and will be responsible for the planning and execution of the trialling, launch, stewardship, and sales of Bayer's vegetable seed products. The primary responsibility is to ensure the successful operation and sustainable growth of Bayer's vegetable seed business within the designated territory, meeting both short- and long-term revenue targets.As the Business Development Manager - South Australia & Protected, the role demands technical credibility paired with a strong commercial focus, establishing the individual as a trusted business partner for all growers.The position also involves scouting and executing field trial plans to identify new commercial products for key vegetable crops. The incumbent of this role will collect complex phenotypical data from these trials that will inform the development, execution, and continuous improvement of strategic plans for responsible products.Key responsibilities of the role:Product Development - drive Market Development and evaluation trials within the current territory to maximise product exposure and build in-depth knowledge of product performance.Assist the technical development team in managing local breeder trials as needed.Collect and submit data to the team in a prompt and prescribed format.Engage with relevant crop-specific teams, contributing to the management of our product pipeline.Territory planning - Develop and execute comprehensive plans grounded in robust market intelligence, focusing on key opportunities to achieve sales targets.Accurate Forecasting - maintain accurate and timely sales forecasting.Proactively identify and implement strategies to capitalise on business opportunities for business expansion.Maximise and sell the value of Bayer's brands, through first-class customer relationships, always ensuring strong engagement and product positions to demonstrate value to growers and other stakeholders.Build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the competitor landscape and their distribution channels within the territory.Regularly assess performance of the distribution channel to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Monitor distributor and customer orders, deliveries and inventory levels.Collaborate with the marketing team to implement and monitor to drive demand.Facilitate transfer of technical knowledge from global to local businesses, presenting this effectively to growers through written reports, videos, social media and marketing.Provide timely stewardship to support growers through the production chain to enhance yield and performance.Does this sound like you?Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture or a related field is essential for success in this role.A deep understanding of vegetable seeds and protected growing farming techniques and technology.Current driver's licence, with the ability to travel extensively across the portfolio.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships and networks with external partners and customers.Self-motivated, assertive and results-oriented with the capability to work in an agile environment.Be you @ BayerWe are committed to creating a culture where people can be their best, in an environment that values inclusion, diversity and flexibility.
