About the opportunity
We invite applications from experienced and commercially astute Business Development Managers to join Detpak, Direct, part of the global Detmold Group – global innovator of sustainable paper and board packaging solutions.
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the National Sales Manager, your key focus will be on managing and nurturing existing accounts and identifying and pursuing new customers and opportunities in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), foodservice and food retail markets across Queensland.
This role is offered as a remote working arrangement with access to an office at the Detpak QLD warehouse in Berrinba as required.
To be successful, you'll need a mix of excellent account management skills and the drive, enthusiasm and resilience to pursue new business. You derive satisfaction from exceeding your customers' expectations; closing the sale and achieving and exceeding targets excites and motivates you.
As part of a cohesive, high performing and geographically dispersed team, you'll enjoy support, care and regular, ongoing communication. We will set you up for success.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
Achieve sales budgets, new business & retained sales targets. Drive growth, range and product expansion of existing accounts. Identify, evaluate, and convert new businesses opportunities. Provide our customers with innovative product solutions. Plan and execute sales activity to drive increased penetration of product and/or services into new market segments. Provide technical support and advice across a range of products. About you
What you'll need:
Experience in a similar role ideally in FMCG, foodservice, packaging or printing industries. Technical sales experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes. Proven success in solution-based selling and sales conversion. A proactive approach and the ability to think outside of the box. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships and networks. An appreciation of the need to balance commercial requirements and customer focused outcomes. High levels of energy, enthusiasm, and self-motivation. The ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive and high performing team. A current, unrestricted driver's license. You will be required to travel as needed.
