Our client, a leading innovator in the modular construction industry, is looking for a talented and driven Business Development Manager to join their dynamic and rapidly growing team in Melbourne.
This company specializes in cutting-edge modular, flat-packable, and reusable building systems, serving diverse sectors including property, events, healthcare, and hospitality.
About the Role:
As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be instrumental in driving business growth and expanding market presence within the construction industry across Australia. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and increasing revenue in a new target market.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Melbourne, focusing on the construction and commercial building sectors. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, including Tier 1 and 2 Builders, Architects, and Suppliers. Understand client needs and pain points to effectively communicate the benefits of our products and services. Work with technical and marketing teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet client requirements. Manage the sales process from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring a smooth transition to the implementation phase. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify strategic growth opportunities. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand awareness and foster partnerships. What We're Looking For: Established network of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Builders, such as Construction Managers, Architects, or Project Managers. Demonstrated track record in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the construction or building sector. Knowledge of construction, modular building, and property is essential Strong customer orientation with a solutions-based approach to meeting client needs. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Willingness to travel within the Melbourne region and occasionally nationally.
