Business Development Manager

Based in Adelaide, our client who specializes in building bespoke residential properties and commercial fit outs, is looking for a Business Development Manager.
The role of the Business Development Manager is to improve this organization's market position and achieve financial growth. This person defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. They work in a senior sales position within the business, collaborating with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue for this entity.
The Business Development Manager needs to find potential new customers, present to them, convert them into clients, and continue to grow the business in the future. They will also help manage existing clients and ensure they remain satisfied and positive.
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising, or other means of generating interest from potential clients. They must plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company. Developing a rapport with new clients, setting targets for sales, and providing support that will continually improve the relationship is essential. Strategic planning is a key part of this position to develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company.
Key ResponsibilitiesProspect for potential new clients and turn this into increased businessCold call as appropriate within the market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunitiesMeet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging the business networkIdentify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organizationResearch and build relationships with new clientsSet up meetings between client decision makers and the Managing DirectorPlan approaches and pitchesDevelop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectivesParticipate in pricing the solutionHandle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion using a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriatelyPresent an image that mirrors that of the clientRequirementsA bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of sales or marketing experienceGood business senseNetworkingPersuasionPublic SpeakingA deep understanding of marketing principlesGood communication skillsNegotiation skillsIdentification of Customer Needs and ChallengesMotivation for SalesProspecting SkillsAn attractive basic salary range of $100,000-$110,000 per annum + super is payable.
