About the opportunity As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, and securing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
This role will also focus on aligning business growth strategies with operational efficiency, ensuring contractual commitments and company goals are met.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted lead generation.
Build and nurture relationships with key clients and partners.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
Support workshop and fabrication efforts by collaborating with workshop teams to ensure deliverables meet client and project specifications.
Analyse industry and competitor data with an emphasis on identifying project-specific opportunities that align with company capabilities.
Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve business targets.
Track and report on sales performance, including pipeline development, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction, while preparing reports and presentations on client status, performance, and key metrics for management review.
Lead negotiations, prepare proposals, and close deals with potential clients.
Undertake contract reviews during tender submissions, prepare departure/response schedules, and assist in negotiating contract provisions to limit risk and maximize opportunities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Sales experience with strong relationship-building, negotiation, influencing, and customer service skills (both external and internal).
Broad technical knowledge of mining and construction industry capital, consumable, and service products.
(Highly desirable) Strong experience in a commercial, financial, or contract support role, ideally in the consulting engineering or mining & resources industries.
Excellent Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style and positive attitude.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Knowledge of risk management processes, assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
