Business Development Manager

We are currently partnering with an Australian wholesaler that provides industrial products to various customers Australia-wide. As a Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in developing, nurturing and expanding the client relationships. You will be responsible for understanding client requirements, strategising solutions, and ensuring seamless service delivery. This role demands a proactive approach in identifying growth opportunities, managing client expectations, and driving revenue through effective business development and account management. This is a newly created role within this business, and we are ideally looking for someone who is willing to build the client network from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients, understanding their business needs and objectives
2. Develop strategic account plans to grow existing business and secure new opportunities
3. Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that exceed client expectations
4. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
5. Review monthly sales figures and continuously prepare sales strategies for the month ahead
6. Travel around Victoria on a weekly basis, and to QLD + NSW on a monthly basis as needed, in an attempt to build the client network

About You:
1. Proven experience in a BDM role in a start-up company is very advantageous – even better if it's in Industrial Capital Sales
2. Having a background in Engineering, 3DCAD or CADCAM, or CNC routing machinery experience is preferred but not essential
3. Ability to build rapport and build relationships with a variety of external stakeholders
4. You have a great attitude, are willing to learn and are disciplined
5. Excellent communication, time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
6. Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
