Role Overview:
As a Business Development Manager focused on federal and local government clients, you'll be instrumental in building and managing relationships with government agencies.
You'll work closely with key departments, including but not limited to:
Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and ForestryDepartment of EducationDepartment of Health and Aged CareDepartment of Veterans' AffairsDepartment of FinanceDepartment of Foreign Affairs and TradeDepartment of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and WaterDepartment of TreasuryACT Government DepartmentsYou'll engage with decision-makers across federal and local government, understanding their needs, addressing challenges, and presenting CAPDA as a trusted partner.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and actively engage with key accounts in the federal and local government sectors.
Prospect new business via available tools and face-to-face meetings.Client Relations: Build strong relationships with assigned accounts, including senior stakeholders, translating their needs into tailored solutions.Proposal and Panel Development: Contribute proposal efforts and panel efforts with federal, state, and local agencies.Pipeline Management: Oversee sales opportunities in Podio, manage pipeline and sales measures, and regularly report monthly progress.
Maintain proposal tools and contribute to achieving annual revenue goals.Collaboration: Work closely with the CAPDA Executive and project teams to drive cohesive strategies and meet organisational objectives.Requirements:
Education: Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.Experience: At least 5+ years in business development, particularly within the federal government context.Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster strategic partnerships.
Knowledge of federal and local government sectors and familiarity with a sales management tool preferred.Attributes: Energetic self-starter with a passion for social change and equity.
Able to represent CAPDA professionally at trade shows and industry events.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
