Our client has occupied a distinct presence in the construction sector for over six decades as one of the premier manufacturing and contracting organisations in Australia. Due to significant growth across defence, education, public buildings, Infrastructure local and federal Government, over the past few years a newly created Business Development position has become available reporting to and working closely with a highly experienced General Manager based in Sydney.
You will be responsible for developing potential new business opportunities, developing profound industry knowledge and promote the company's capabilities to both existing and new clients. This role has a heavy emphasis on business development – working closely with internal and external stakeholders, assessing project requirements and ensuring the provision of effective customer service and project lifecycle support.
To be successful you will ideally have;
Tertiary qualifications in engineering/construction or business with proven and quantifiable history of success in developing new business.A strong network of industry contracts within the above sectors across the ACT.High levels of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate at a senior level.The ability to think "outside the square" to provide and tailor bespoke project solutions to clients.Strong engagement and people management skills.Strong reporting capabilities.Solid computer skills utilising the full Microsoft suite with experience in CRM and project management software.Enjoy working as part of a close knit management team.Experience in formulating and delivering tender and bid submissions to wide ranging clients across multi-disciplined infrastructure projects whilst having a detailed commercial understanding around contracts & risk.Based in Canberra, this is a highly visible role within a global organisation, representing a genuine opportunity to establish yourself as a key stakeholder within the business.
