Role Objective The successful candidate will be a tenacious and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with a talent for winning new business through astute client targeting, trusted relationship building, and on-point execution of strategic sales plans.
The BDM will need to be a team player, able to work within a small group and at times autonomously.
The BDM will be responsible for market awareness, increasing market share and achieving new business growth within the project, logistics transport, infrastructure, construction and project transport industries nationally.
Contributing to the business development and growth plan, implementing sales and marketing strategies, sourcing and cementing key relationships, negotiating tenders, proposals and quotes, and offering innovative solutions.
Inclined to find a way to say, "yes it can be done", when competitors say "no, it can't".

The BDM will have transport and trucking experience and will be working closely with and reporting to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities: Source leads, develop and implement new growth and sales strategies; Assist operations in management of contract works where required; Contribute to the Marketing and Business Plan; Ensure growth/sales and profit targets are delivered as part of KPI expectations; Meet budgetary requirements and business growth targets; Construction of relevant and detailed database; Contribute ideas for content for marketing/email campaigns and social media; To passionately promote the business' values, state-of-the art innovation, technology and logistics solutions; Work closely with operations to schedule and complete off contract projects; Identify prospective clients and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders; Maintain strong retention of clients offering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong relationships; Work with the Estimating and Finance team to create bespoke tenders, proposals and quotations presenting solutions to clients; Secure/book sub-contractors for off contract projects; Forecast and report on sales pipeline, in relation to the budget; Comply with all reporting requirements; Key Competency and Skills: Willingness to do whatever it takes to provide exceptional customer service internally and externally in pursuit of exceptional sales and growth results; Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the Logistics & Supply Chain Sectors; With impressive proven results, and strong existing networks; Genuine passion for achieving and then exceeding sales targets and business growth; Outstanding communication skills at all levels, able to influence and engage all levels of clients and internal decision makers; Strong relationship building, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; Demonstrated networking skills with the ability to research and proactively identify new business opportunities; Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and ability to determine solutions; Ability to utilise marketing campaigns and social media to build the pipeline; Proficient in using MS Office products (Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, Word) and CRM system and able to analyse and interpret data; Experience in preparation of quotes and invoices using an accounting application; Be confident conducting presentations to both new and existing clients; Dedication to delivery of highest levels of customer services.
