Position summary
Downer Defence Systems is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - Federal Government. You will use your skills and demonstrated experience to lead the business development function to maximise opportunities within the Australian Government in particular Department of Defence and Federal government panel arrangements and other sales channels.

Core skills and requirements:
You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring that clients, potential future clients and partners are aware of Downer capabilities when approaching the market. You will have experience influencing the client and assist with their go to market approach
Development of business engagement strategy and partner engagement
Provide leadership and vision and input to the sales process
Lead the approach to owned opportunities and their bid responses by imparting specific client knowledge which outlines win themes and competitive advantage
Develop a strong client and partner relationships network to identify and develop commercial opportunities

Competencies:
8 to 10 years experience leading a business development team with a professional services environment
Strong understanding of the Federal Government procurement process
Display a high performance attitude and maintains a focus on growth and customer relationships.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold an active NV1 or above Australian Federal Government Security Clearance due to client requirements. The role will likely involve access to controlled technology and must satisfy restrictions and requirements as a consequence of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations (ITAR).
