Role overview

This exciting role reports into the Head of New Business for APAC.
You will be responsible for generating new business in the Australia / New Zealand territory with the support of the Head of New Business and the Marketing team.
Working collaboratively, you will be expected to set up at least 10 prospect meetings per week, with a mix of self-generated opportunities and qualified leads.
Self-generated opportunities will entail cold calling/lead generation.
You will be required to nurture that opportunity by prospecting, negotiating, presenting award-winning presentations and holding great conversations with key stakeholders.
This role gives you the opportunity to work with the world's most creative people, selling the world's leading consumer insight and trend forecasting suite of products.

The team

As a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager (BDM), you'll join our team located in Melbourne / Sydney.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your markets while driving growth and forging strong prospect relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team.

Key accountabilities

Developing and growing new business opportunities in the Australia / New Zealand markets Selling the WGSN suite of solutions to new clients Forecasting business accurately on monthly and quarterly outlook Key responsibilities include following up inbound leads, proactive approach to lead generation through research, social selling, networking, discovery calls and working closely with the marketing team and rest of the sales team to develop strategies to recruit new Enterprise level business prospects in your markets Arranging & attending meetings with prospects, making C-Level presentations including demonstration of the subscription site; drafting proposals and contract documents and consistent networking within the industry Working closely with the Account Management and Client Success teams to understand client's usage of the solution, best practices and customer success stories to drive referral business

Skills, experience & qualifications required

Proven track record of consultative solution selling and understanding of subscription businesses Solid experience of working in sales, with the ability to connect with clients and colleagues from all walks of life.
Previous experience working within SaaS / information services a distinct advantage Outstanding communication and 'hunter' capabilities.
Existing network within target industry vertical(s) highly regarded Articulate, and able to present & communicate confidently with C-Level prospects A flair for strong relationship building and skilled in cold outreach.
A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is a bonus
