We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to grow our sales and revenue with the new and existing accounts within the Enterprise markets in Canberra.

In Oceania AFL employs over 160 people. We have offices in each major capital city of Australia and in Auckland, NZ; and operate two optical fibre manufacturing facilities in Victoria. We provide fibre optic solutions to the Service Provider, Hyperscale, Energy Utility, Enterprise and Industrial markets.
About the Role As a Business Development Manager, reporting to the National Market Manager, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base in the Enterprise market. In this role, you will build engaging relationships with existing clientele to grow the accounts while developing impactful go to market strategies to acquire new business.
Key Responsibilities Achieve or exceed sales goals within targeted market segments and accountsDevelop and implement sound strategies for existing accounts and new leads in close collaboration with the National Market Manager to achieve business objectivesIdentify new business opportunities and expand the customer baseMaintain a high level of knowledge of our products and its application for a potential customer or opportunityGain up to date knowledge of customer's business and their objectives to recognise / foresee opportunities to proactively deliver our solutionsDesign solutions for new and existing customers in close collaboration with relevant internal stakeholdersBuild and maintain engaging relationships with the clients, serving as a trusted advisor and partner for them to deliver success against their objectives and strategiesDeliver compelling sales presentations and cultivate personal relationships with strategic clientsManage and enhance sales revenue and margins with assigned customers in designated marketsProvide regular sales forecasts, updates on project pipelines, and prepare annual sales plansStay current with relevant industries, competition, products and solutions to bring valuable insights on the market trends and industry landscape contributing toward our product / solution developmentKey Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Marketing, or EngineeringProven experience in similar roles within the telecommunications, network communications, or technical engineering industriesDemonstrated experience in selling tangible products and solutions is highly desiredProven success managing and growing revenue in a B2B environment ideally within the Enterprise marketsDemonstrated experience building complex solutions in collaboration with the internal stakeholders to acquire and grow accountsProven experience with strong people skills to build and maintain highly engaging stakeholder relationshipsStrong communication skills with the ability to articulate information effectively to audiences at various levelsDemonstrated experience in designing and delivering engaging and compelling sales presentationsHighly motivated go getter with proactive approach to identifying and ceasing the right opportunitiesSound analytical skills to interpret tender requests, contractual documents, technical journals and reportsProven ability to calculate project and product pricing, discounts, margins, and commissionsHigh technical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage composure and maintain professionalismCurrent driver's license and willingness to travel as neededUnrestricted rights to work in AustraliaWhat makes AFL a great place to work!
