The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Executive to join the McCullough Robertson team in Brisbane. You will form part of the national Business Development and Marketing team with a strong culture of setting each other up for success.
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of business development strategies to strengthen key client relationships, as well as pursue and position for new opportunities in targeted areas.
Together with the Business Development team, you will also support the firm in an exciting period of growth and assist with initiatives to further expand our profile and brand across Queensland.
Your key responsibilities include:
Working closely with partners and teams to execute their strategic business development and marketing plans, as well as monitoring and assessing plans on a regular basis; Assisting with client relationship strategies, including participating in client listening initiatives, ensuring the delivery of client commitments such as value adds; Preparing and managing budgets for your designated teams; Collaborating with the Business Development and Marketing team to identify opportunities for collaboration between teams to promote the firm's expertise and approach to target clients, industries and regions; Project managing and preparing tender responses, credentials, and directory submissions from end to end; Proactively building and maintaining effective working relationships with partners, managers, staff, clients, external service providers, and industry associations relevant to your designated teams; Supporting individual lawyers and teams to develop their business development skills and to prepare and execute personal business development plans that align with the firm's strategic priorities and team goals; Contributing to the firm's strategy, including supporting various projects in preparation for the firm's centenary in 2026, and working on firm and BDM team projects that drive process improvements, solve problems, and enable us to continue expanding our support of the firm in new and exciting ways. Experience The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related field. This role would suit a BD Coordinator with 2-3 years' experience looking to progress, or a BD Executive looking for an opportunity to develop new skills and gain further experience.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport, and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels; Strong written, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver strategic key messaging in a consistent and simple way; Excellent attention to detail; Proven ability to effectively manage priorities, projects and deadlines, and communicate accordingly with relevant stakeholders; A hands-on approach, and willingness to support the team during peak periods and contribute to a cohesive team environment; A passion for continuous learning, including supporting the development of BDM Coordinators and Administrators; and Adaptability and flexibility in meeting the firm's evolving needs.
