As Business Development Director for the Melbourne School of Professional and Continuing Education (MSPACE), you'll contribute to strategic initiatives and forge connections with industry, government, and beyond. You'll develop an understanding of MSPACE's capabilities and leverage them to contribute to revenue growth and manage a strong pipeline of commercial work. This is your chance to make a real impact, amplifying ways to collaborate and fostering partnerships that benefit the University and its partners.Your responsibilities will include:Manage and implement the MSPACE business development plan with a deep understanding of MSPACE's capabilitiesProvide leadership and manage existing accounts and convert existing pipelineIn consultation with the General Manager and MSPACE leadership, manage the internal relationships with Faculties for B2B activities and support existing projectsLead a high-performing MSPACE business development team accountable for achieving strategic and revenue targets.Contribute to I&E initiatives and as directed by the Cluster Lead and I&E leadership teamWho we are looking forWe're seeking an individual with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a proven track record of success in building strong, collaborative relationships with industry, executives, and researchers. This highly motivated and results-oriented leader will leverage their extensive network and background in to identify and deliver innovative business opportunities within a dynamic and ever-changing environment.You will also have:Undergraduate degree essential, (PhD and/or MBA/AICD highly-desirable, but not essential) coupled with extensive commercial experience in business development or senior commercial roles across the education sector, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and educationExtensive demonstrated experience identifying and developing strategic business opportunities both internally and in collaboration with external partners, promoting expert services and consultancy, and structuring, negotiating and closing complex deals with large corporations, governments and agencies, locally, regionally and globallyExperience in the development and implementation of business development and strategic plans as well as managing a teamDemonstrated ability to develop, lead and implement strategic initiatives in a complex organisation that has national and international interests, working with internal and external stakeholders from multiple sectors and organisationsFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
