As we build our business from the ground up, we're looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development and Operations Manager to drive growth, secure clients, and establish our operations.
The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to join a startup environment with a blank slate. You'll play a critical role in shaping our business by creating a solid foundation for operations and business development. This is a hands-on role that will involve both strategic planning and tactical execution, with a focus on developing strong relationships with clients in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities: Build Client Relationships: Identify and engage potential clients in the mining industry, developing a strong client base from scratch. Manage end-to-end business development efforts, including prospecting, pitching, and closing contracts.Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a business development strategy aimed at securing new contracts, increasing revenue, and positioning the company as a key player in mining labour hire.Client Management: Build and maintain long-term client relationships by providing exceptional service and proactively addressing any issues or changes in client needs.Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all operational activities comply with mining industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Develop quality control measures to meet client expectations.Team Development: Recruit, manage, and mentor an operations team as the business grows, fostering a high-performing culture and a commitment to safety and quality.Financial Management: Oversee budgeting and cost control measures for business operations. Set and meet financial targets for revenue and profitability.Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand mining, civil and construction industry trends, competitor activity, and opportunities for service expansion.About You: Experience: 5+ years in business development and/or operations management, ideally within labour hire mining industry.Proven Success: Demonstrated track record of building client relationships and securing contracts in the mining sector.Start-Up Mindset: Enthusiastic about building a business from the ground up and comfortable with the fast pace of a startup environment.Operational Expertise: Skilled in establishing processes, ensuring compliance, and implementing systems for efficient operations.Client-Centric: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on client satisfaction and relationship building.Problem Solver: Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a solutions-oriented approach.Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients, visit sites, and attend industry events.Why Join Us?
