Employment Type: Ongoing and non-ongoing (for an initial period of up to 12 months). This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the PM&C delegate. Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years. A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

Who we are: The team is working on a whole of government web-based service to improve collaboration and modernise the way important information is created, distributed and shared across government. The Business Analyst will be working alongside a high calibre, friendly and supportive team delivering creative solutions to whole of government.
What you will do: PM&C is seeking the services of a talented Business Analyst for a prominent and influential system. The Business Analyst will specifically undertake the following:
Meet with business stakeholders to elicit, capture and document business processes, requirements and business rules;Undertake interpretation and translation of business requirements into viable business solutions;Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders within the organisation including facilitating key discussion forums;Assist with documentation outlining new functionality.What you will bring: The Business Analyst will be working alongside a high calibre, friendly and supportive team delivering creative solutions. This opportunity would suit a self-starter with excellent communication skills who wants to work within a small dynamic team. Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Proven practical experience in requirements gathering and documentation, business rules definition, process/workflow design and liaison with business representatives;Strong analytical and communication skills;Demonstrated attention to detail;Demonstrated experience in web-based applications;Demonstrated experience working in SDLC and Agile environments using PRINCE2;Experience in facilitating business groups/forums to elicit requirements;Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.Desirable Criteria: Experience in the use of Azure DevOps.
Essential Criteria: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst across various disciplines in ICT.
Eligibility: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing. At PM&C to be eligible for this position you should be an Australian Citizen at the closing date of application, unless exceptional circumstances apply.The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.The successful candidate will be assessed through our pre-employment screening checks, such as an Australian Criminal History Check, and will normally be subject to a six-month probation period if new to the APS or has not yet completed their probation period elsewhere in the APS.Security Clearance Required: Negative Vetting Level 1 (Secret)
