About the role Our client is the largest local government authority in Northern Australia.
This position plays a key role in supporting operational teams in the delivery of projects and major system and process enhancements and working collaboratively across the organisation.
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting Project Managers and operational teams in the delivery of projects and major system and process enhancements.
They will interact with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to understand their problems and needs, gather, document and analyses these business requirements and develop detailed functional, technical and user specifications to support the delivery of new or enhanced business and IT systems.
Responsibilities Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
Establish and maintain collaborative, credible, and trusting relationships in the provision of a business partnering service to a portfolio of customers, advocating for customers/IT Services, and ensuring customer centricity remains at the forefront.
Ensure quality customer outcomes / strong relationships with strategic partners through the use of effective customer service principles, negotiation, influencing, educating customers/Building systems understanding and capacity, expert advisory services, understanding the business, and by promoting a customer-centric mentality across the organisation.
Represent the current and future business requirements of key business stakeholders into the design and delivery of new business and IT systems.
Develop and produce high quality artefacts relevant to the delivery of business and IT projects and systems, including documenting current and future state of business systems and processes and mapping key relationships between business systems and/or data structures and data relationships.
Produce training documentation and user guides to facilitate adoption and utilisation of business and IT systems, and work with test teams to execute testing activities and facilitate end user systems acceptance.
About You Current Queensland 'C' Class Driver's Licence Tertiary qualification in Business Systems or Information Technology, and/or substantial industry experience.
Formal qualifications or demonstrated experience in the disciplines of Service Management (ITIL) and Project Management.
Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within a diverse, multidisciplined organisation.
Proven ability to educate, influence, coach, mentor and forge strong relationships with all levels of stakeholders based on the provision of informed, sound advice that builds an environment of trust and respect.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, consultation, negotiation, relationship building, influencing and client service skills.
Proven ability in interpreting technical information and translating it into audience appropriate communications.
Strong ability to apply creative problem-solving techniques and analytical skills in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technologies and integrating diverse user systems.
