The Business Analyst provides analysis to define the end-to-end set of requirements related to a new or existing event or process. This includes redesigning existing processes to include improvements in service, support, and performance measures.
POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS: Responsibilities for this Role
Facilitates workshops including business process reviews, requirements and user story gathering, production readiness, options analysis, etc. with a wide range of business and technical stakeholders
Prepares feasibility studies, business cases, requirements analysis, gap analysis, user stories, impact analysis, options analysis, training material, strategy plans, and decision notes
Gathers, understands, and documents business requirements and user stories including identification of business impacts arising from new or changed functionality or business processes
Leads development of solution designs, including options and recommendations, adhering to project and government standards
Assists with the identification and business design of system integrations
Assists with the identification and business design of data conversions/manipulations that may require either automated or manual completion
Participates in the development and execution of test cases for various levels of testing
Assists with the development and delivery of formal training of system users
Develops documentation and provides knowledge transfer to ministry staff, other project team members, or other external resources
Provides leadership and support to other members of the team
Skills and Experience Mandatory Overall experience (12+ years) in technology development projects.
Experience (7+ years) in the discipline of gathering, understanding, and documenting client business requirements / user stories for integrated custom applications with complex business processes.
Experience (5+ years) facilitating workshops and communicating with diverse business, technical, and executive stakeholder groups.
Experience (3+ years) participating on ServiceNow based projects. Preferably with ServiceNow notifications experience in Incident management and Request management.
Experience (2+ years) participating in client facing project teams where client interaction is daily. Preferably in the public sector.
Experience (2+ years) participating in execution of various stages of testing (e.g. UAT, SIT).
4 year / bachelor's degree in a related field.
Willingness to work in the pacific time zone.
Experience (2+ years) participating on projects with an Agile/iterative approach to project planning and implementation.
Knowledge and working experience with the Client's OCIO Service Delivery Units (SDUs) and service offerings.
Experience (1+ years) working remotely.
Experience (1+ years) working on MS365 implementations in a ServiceNow context.
Experience (2+ years) working with financial system
