Minutes to Seconds is looking for a Business Analyst in a Permanent role in Melbourne.
Requirements
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for driving business improvements and ensuring successful implementation of retail solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and finance, to gather requirements, analyze processes, and deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decisions. The role requires strong experience in retail operations, e-commerce, inventory management, and customer relationship management (CRM).
Key Responsibilities:
Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, collect detailed requirements, and document them in the form of business requirement documents (BRD) and functional specifications.
Process Analysis: Analyze and evaluate current retail processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance business performance.
Solution Design: Work with technical teams to design retail-specific solutions, such as inventory management, point-of-sale (POS), merchandising, and customer engagement systems.
Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to assess business performance, sales trends, and customer behavior. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and improve the customer experience.
System Implementation: Lead or assist in the implementation of retail management systems (RMS), e-commerce platforms, and CRM solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of business objectives.
Testing & Validation: Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that retail systems meet business requirements. Validate data accuracy and ensure the smooth rollout of new features and systems.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, requirements, and business rules for continuous reference and improvement.
Market & Competitor Analysis: Perform market and competitor analysis to understand trends, pricing strategies, and industry innovations that can be leveraged to improve retail operations.
Project Management: Support or lead retail-related projects, from initial planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
Required Skills and Experience:
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the retail industry or similar.
Strong understanding of retail operations, including merchandising, pricing, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, POS, and retail management systems (RMS).
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
Excellent skills in business process modeling, with experience in creating process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and use case diagrams.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with agile methodologies and working within cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of retail industry trends, customer behavior, and competitive strategies.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Familiarity with SQL for querying databases and performing complex data analysis.
Knowledge of digital transformation initiatives in the retail sector.
Experience working in a multi-channel retail environment, including in-store, online, and mobile commerce.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
