Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our client, a leading State Government Department on an initial contract until 30 June 2025. This role will have a strong emphasis on business engagement and ultimately aim to resolve business problems with the help of technology and make recommendations on the technology solutions.
About the role:Business Analyst experience in an IT environment with strong skills in the development of requirements and specifications according to standardsCost benefit analysisAnalytical thinking and problem solvingSound written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex system and process concepts and creativity in communicationAbility to cultivate productive working relationships and communicate with influenceFacilitation and elicitation skills to lead business in definition of desired outcomes and business processes and requirementsAbility to work both individually with minimum supervision and also within a team environmentUnderstanding of broader business issues, structures and operationsUnderstanding of governance frameworksKnowledge of software development life cycleKnowledge of risk management frameworks and experience in applying to an ICT environmentExperience in an ICT operational environmentAbout you:Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, possession of a tertiary qualification in information and communication technology or related disciplines would be desirable.
