About the RoleAs a Business Analyst (for Strategic Integration – Processes & Controls) in our Risk - Financial Crime Tribe, you'll play a key role in helping to identify and drive delivery of changes required to Processes & Controls as a result of law reform and strategic priorities to help ANZ lead the way in innovative, effective and compliant Financial Crime risk management. This role consists of specialist positions responsible for ANZ's compliance regarding Financial Crime around AML/CTF Sanctions, Bribery, Corruption, External Fraud & Investigations.
The purpose of the role is to support the Financial Crime Risk Theme Executive and delegates to oversee management of law reform governing Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (ML/TF), Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption and External Fraud Risk Themes at an enterprise level, in line with Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Target Operating Model and I.AM Framework.
This role will also influence strategic priorities to better identify, mitigate and manage Financial Crime and External Fraud risk in the future; inform policy settings and oversee the execution of Financial Crime policy across the enterprise to ensure that Financial Crime and External Fraud risk are appropriately mitigated and managed within risk appetite.
Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 (also open to applications based in Sydney) Work Hours: 40 hours/week What will your day look like?As a Business Analyst, you will be accountable for:
Assessing opportunities to coordinate and deliver changes required by law reform to continuously uplift and embed the Financial Crime Risk Theme across the enterprise.Engagement with Financial Crime Risk and Control Owners regarding key elements of the NFR Framework to assess change impacts on people, process and controls.Providing the Financial Crime Strategic Integration Lead with insights and recommended actions to uplift and ensure processes and controls are being appropriately executed across the enterprise in accordance with law reform and Financial Crime strategic outcomes.Developing the Financial Crime Strategic Roadmap through strategic thinking and prioritisation by the Financial Crime Leadership Team and key stakeholders to support NFR Risk Transformation and Process Governance.Identifying opportunities to strengthen training, education and awareness to support the Financial Crime Learning & Capability team build an exceptionally well-trained, engaged and equipped workforce.Building relationships internally and externally to increase collaboration and achieve better Financial Crime strategic outcomes for ANZ and the broader industry.Working with Financial Crime Advisory and the divisions to strengthen their approach to apply controls, control monitoring, governance and oversight.Identifying thematic issues associated with the Risk Themes to raise with the relevant Risk Officer (e.g. control objectives, material issues and events, control failures and improvement opportunities).What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Financial Crime subject matter experience across AML/CTF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and a broad understanding of External Fraud.Experience leading delivery of change and project management.Ability to connect the dots and have an enterprise view of risks by organising complex information and providing risk insights using simpler language.Ability to influence stakeholders and colleagues with empathy, facts and logic and draw on a repertoire of influencing techniques and skills to lead the work through others (not just through reporting lines).Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, operational risk management, control assurance and financial crime in the financial services industry.Data management and use of AI and/or machine learning.Good understanding of ANZ's business and control environment and emerging risks.Appropriate Financial Crime qualifications such as ACAMS, Diploma (or other) in Financial Crime disciplines.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
