Location:Department of Health is seeking interest for a permanent full-time Business Advisor to join the Health ICT team, based at 22 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.
The Role: The Business Advisor supervises a small team that delivers a range of business and/or project activities, providing high level executive support services for the Chief Information Officer. The role reports to the Senior Manager, OCIO and:
Coordinates business support and advice associated with the business and administrative functions of Health ICT, covering a broad range of areas including contract management, finance, purchasing/procurement, Information Technology, human resources and recruitment, asset management, work health and safety, meeting and project support that contributes to branch activities. This can include coordinating travel, accommodation and meetings, scheduling appointments, organising meeting requirements, collation of papers, and preparation and handling of confidential, politically sensitive and complex documentation and enquiries in a responsive, accurate way.Contributes to the efficient and effective workflow and sharing of information across the Department, Office of the Secretary and Minister's Office. Supports OCIO as the central Health ICT branch coordination point for incoming and outgoing high-level communications and documentation via electronic document tracking and management systems.You will need: Proven track record in supervising a team to deliver targeted business services, solutions and results within a complex and changeable work environment.Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a close-knit team, to achieve outcomes and build understanding and cooperation that contributes to a positive workplace culture.Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver accurate advice and succinct, responsive and sensitive documentation in a senior Executive support environment.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
The Office of the Chief Information Officer team: The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) team sits within Health Information and Communications Technology (Health ICT), a significant corporate division of the Department of Health. OCIO provides high level executive services to senior leadership, with priority focus on supporting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) as head of Health ICT.Health ICT provides strategic leadership for effective planning, procurement and management of information systems and communication technologies. This large branch provides front-line support to clinical services and enables the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality integrated patient and client care.Health ICT is also responsible for program and project management, information security advice, ICT vendor and contract management. It provides high-level advice on digital health strategy, investment and delivery as well as the implementation of systems and technologies for effective information management and governance.Details of appointment: Permanent full time day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $95,393 to $100,067 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
