The role : We are seeking a highly motivated, solution-focused individual to provide operational support for vessel movement across Tasmania. Reporting to the Manager Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), this key role in the Harbour Master Department ensures communications, situational awareness of the VTS area, and all relevant shipping schedules are maintained, updated, and conveyed to stakeholders.
You will have exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and have the ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all stakeholders. You must have the ability to cope under pressure, possess high-level attention to detail, prioritize and manage time, and take a consultative approach to all tasks.
What you need : Ability to obtain and successfully hold a Maritime Security Identification Card Experience working in a VTS or Port Operations environment (desirable) Knowledge of vessel scheduling in Tasmanian Ports (desirable) Knowledge of and experience in working to Quality Management Systems (desirable) Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (desirable) Drivers Licence This role will participate in a shift roster arrangement.
