The Property Maintenance and Upgrades (PM&U) Team is responsible for the delivery of both planned and reactive repairs and maintenance (R&M) services as well as building infrastructure, grounds, and property upgrades.
PM&U are looking for a high performing, motivated and energetic individual to fill a temporary vacancy as the Senior Director Property Maintenance and Upgrades. This is a fast-paced position which requires a high degree of self-direction.
This position provides oversight and leadership for all planned repairs and maintenance activities and for the delivery of roughly 600 small to medium sized projects across a large portfolio of sites and buildings. You will need to possess a high degree of resilience and experience in leading a large team of roughly 45 staff through change processes and service delivery responsibilities.
To succeed in this position, you will need to demonstrate extensive skills and experience in people management, procurement, and contract management as well as property maintenance and/or upgrades services, including well-developed negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
While there is an immediate opportunity to backfill this position between 16/12/2024 to 10/01/2025, this recruitment will be used to backfill this position for any short-term opportunities over the coming twelve months.
Please note that you will need to verify with your current manager availability to commence on the 16/12/2024 and be available for a half-day hand-over the week prior to commencement.

Eligibility / Other Requirements: Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement. A current driver's licence (car) is necessary. Qualifications in Property, Building Management, Procurement, Project Management, Commercial Real Estate, Business Management, or related areas are highly desirable. Membership of a related professional association (or the commitment and capacity to obtain) such as Australian Property Institute, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Australian Institute of Project Management, Facilities Management Australia, or similar association and commitment to maintaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and/or learning plan related to your professional discipline is desirable.
This position is based in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill short-term vacancies over the next 12 months.
