About the role : Join Aurizon as a Terminal Coordinator at our Mount Miller Terminal, located in Gladstone. This role will see you perform a combination of hands-on Shunting and Top Lifter operation and office-based functions to effectively coordinate both terminal and people-related activities.
The terminal typically operates Monday to Friday during daylight hours, with some weekend and after-hours work required. The operation consists of loading, unloading, dispatching, and receiving trains and trucks. Shunting of trains also occurs regularly.
Key responsibilities and deliverables of this position include but are not limited to : Accurately record all data subject to National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NVHAS) requirements and follow up on non-conformances. Develop and maintain positive, customer-focused relationships with stakeholders. Coordinate all operational activities occurring within the terminal to the highest degree of safety and efficiency. Use and maintain relevant systems in conjunction with coordinating and planning the effective and efficient use of resources. Coordinate terminal facilities, equipment acquisition, and supply orders for the team as required. Coordinate, deliver, and assist with the implementation of administrative programs and functional initiatives across the section. Respond to all inquiries in a timely and efficient manner with an emphasis on high-quality customer service, including assistance with internal and third-party vendor stakeholder management. Maintain a thorough understanding of operational levels provided to meet business requirements. About you : Shunt Qualified (preferred) High Risk Licence (mandatory) Forklift Licence (mandatory) Experience within a high-volume rail, transport logistics, or heavy industrial environment. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to work as an effective member of a team and build relationships for results. Exceptional organizational skills to manage the complexity of multiple competing priorities and operational demands. Sound analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse work groups. Substantial skill in processing information in relevant computer systems along with proficiency in MS Office suite. Demonstrated experience working within a stringent safety-focused environment. Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as driving history checks, reference checks, and a CAT 1 Rail medical is a requirement for this position.
