Job Requisition ID: R6839 The Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst will report directly to the General Manager of Strategy & Development and support the broader team in a wide range of strategic and corporate development initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to both corporate and operational strategy, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business development, and market analysis.
In this role, you'll be responsible for: Corporate Development: Support the end-to-end M&A process, including target identification, synergies evaluation, financial modelling, due diligence, and transaction execution, including negotiation of legal documentation. Conduct financial and strategic analysis of potential acquisition or partnership targets, including performing financial due diligence, valuation, business planning scenario analysis, and integration planning. Actively interact with members of the Strategy & Transformation team, Finance team, business units, and external advisors (if involved) to review the merits of a potential transaction and distil the key findings for further internal discussion and evaluation with the CEO, ExCo, and the Board of Directors. Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities for growth. Business Development: Work on strategic and development initiatives aimed at fast-tracking the growth of the company's customer base and revenue streams. Analyse potential strategic partnerships and alliances that align with the company's long-term strategic objectives. Support the business units in evaluating the launch of new products and services by collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Strategic Analysis: Assist in the development of corporate strategy by conducting in-depth market research and analysis. Support the evaluation of new market opportunities, including potential product launches, geographic expansion, and partnerships. Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership, including the CEO, executive team, and Board, to facilitate decision-making. Assist in the identification of operational improvements to drive efficiency and enhance customer experience. Collaborate with internal teams to implement key operational projects. Track and report on the progress of strategic and operational initiatives. Financial Modelling and Reporting: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the impact of strategic initiatives, M&A corporate development deals (including accretion/dilution, merger modelling, and synergies value math), and business development opportunities. Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support key strategic decisions. Prepare and deliver presentations summarising findings and recommendations to senior management. Experience & Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or a related financial role. Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Familiarity with the financial services industry, particularly credit cards and personal lending, is a plus. The ability to stretch across multiple projects and strategic initiatives.
