Senior Structural Draftsperson / Drafting Manager
Quantum Consulting Engineers is a company based in Sydney's Sutherland Shire (and other locations nationally) offering expert consulting services in reinforced concrete structures, post-tensioned concrete structures, and steel structures.
QCE delivers small to large scale projects within the residential, industrial, and commercial sectors.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Revit Draftsperson to join our growing team in Sydney who wishes to be part of a company that values its team and provides an environment that allows you to develop and excel in your profession.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills:
Extensive knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD (AutoCAD essential as we do still draft in this for the PT business, looking to transition), Ability to model and draft building projects in Revit / AutoCAD of varying scale and complexity to the required standards, Ability to conduct internal reviews of project documentation, Ability to communicate with the QCE team about best drafting practices, Ability to establish / continue to develop internal drafting standards and libraries for documentation, Ability to coordinate engineering documentation / models, resolve clashes and manage BIM related tasks, Ability to work independently, Knowledge of reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and structural steel essential, Knowledge of Australian Design Standards.
About you:
Minimum 6-10 years' experience as a Structural Drafter in Australia, Background in drafting or structural engineering, Diploma in Engineering Drafting or Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (desirable), Experienced in the use of Revit and AutoCAD, High attention to detail, Strong time management and prioritization skills, Strong communication and leadership skills, Active in providing ideas for improvement to a growing team, An interest in parametric BIM workflows (e.g., use of Grasshopper, Rhino, etc.
to improve workflows).

Quantum Consulting Engineers (QCE) was founded in 2016 by our Director, Lance Rogers.
Having an extensive background in structural, remedial, and post-tension engineering spanning over 27 years, Lance began QCE after spending time as the state manager and quality manager for a significant Australian post-tension company.
He has also been involved in the product development space, inventing and patenting a number of products used daily in the construction industry.
Since its inception, the QCE team has grown to 4 offices nationally, with teams of 4-8 people in each office, and more room to grow.
While the business was primarily focused on post-tension floor design and documentation, we have now expanded our skills into completing full Structural designs.
We have an exciting pipeline of structural and post-tension projects across the business in various sectors.
Our services also extend into the structural remediation and product development sectors.
The QCE engineering team is made up of experienced engineers, highly skilled in both engineering design and AutoCAD drafting, looking to expand our skills into BIM and integrate BIM into our workflows for both structures and post-tension projects.
Software packages we use include RAM Concept, Rapt, Inducta, ETABS, SpaceGass, Structural Toolkit, Revit, AutoCAD, and more.
