Senior Risk Manager - CFD Trading and Financial Risk Management About Our Client The client is a leader in Contract for Difference (CFD) trading.
Job Description Risk Framework Development & Implementation Design, develop, and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks tailored to CFD trading, covering market, credit, and operational risk. Define risk appetite and tolerance levels in alignment with the company's business objectives, regularly reviewing and adjusting as market conditions evolve. Ensure robust risk mitigation strategies are in place, particularly around high-risk trading activities and volatile instruments. Risk Monitoring & Reporting Monitor real-time trading risk exposures across the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platforms, implementing automated alerts for breaches of risk limits. Analyze exposure trends, client trading behaviors, and potential impacts of market events to proactively mitigate risks. Generate regular and ad-hoc risk reports for senior management, providing insights into current risk exposures, trends, and areas of concern. Regulatory Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements for CFD trading, including risk disclosures, reporting obligations, and capital adequacy requirements. Collaborate with compliance, finance, and audit teams to ensure risk processes align with regulatory expectations and internal audit requirements. Keep abreast of regulatory changes, particularly in jurisdictions where the company operates, and adapt risk practices accordingly. Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to assess the resilience of the trading portfolio under various market conditions. Use results to refine risk limits, contingency plans, and hedging strategies, providing recommendations to executive management. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration Partner with trading, operations, finance, and compliance teams to align risk management with business objectives. Engage with senior management to communicate key risk metrics, strategies, and areas requiring action. The Successful Applicant Experience: 10+ years of experience in financial risk management, with a strong focus on CFDs, derivatives, or similar trading environments. Proven track record in managing risk functions within a financial services organization, ideally with experience on MT4 and MT5 platforms. Technical Skills: Advanced understanding of market, credit, and operational risk as it relates to CFD trading. Proficiency in risk analytics and modeling tools; familiarity with statistical and quantitative risk analysis. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in CFD trading, particularly in major markets (e.g., ASIC, FCA, MAS). Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree or CFA / FRM certification is highly desirable. Soft Skills: Strategic thinking with strong analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to non-specialists and senior executives. Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive a risk-aware culture within the organization.
