Client is a specialist client-side construction consultancy based in Brisbane's CBD. They are a high-quality, high-end firm offering full function services across cost, development, and project management disciplines. As a result of growth, they are looking to add a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to their ranks in the new year.
Your new role The PM manages their own portfolio of projects end-to-end or as required by clients. Projects normally range between $10-80 million with a couple of outliers at either end. Sectors include retail, commercial, education – particularly private schools and higher education, as well as a growing industrial section.
The key to success in the role is meeting and exceeding client expectations in terms of cost, time, and quality, while also keeping a close eye on risk. The company has a preference for providing higher quality, higher value work for clients that value their high-quality input, thus avoiding a race to the bottom on fees. As such, strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills are a key need for the role.
What you'll need to succeed Ideally, the candidate will have a QS, Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering qualification and decent experience working in a similar role for project consultancy or PQS firm provided in a project delivery role.
Candidates would need to have extensive experience and understanding of the building and construction process from initial concept planning through design development and management of the delivery project, including strong contract administration and financial management. The client is looking for strong demonstrable experience as a supervisor's representative.
