You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will: Support the Transmission & Electrification team by working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects and utilising your experience in substation design. Conduct HV (primary) design of transmission & distribution substations including layouts, ratings, sizing, specifying and providing technical oversight. Develop specifications at the project level and equipment level. Use a working knowledge of power system protection and SCADA systems. Use a working knowledge of transmission lines and underground cables. Use a working knowledge of power system earthing design. Support the high voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects. Undertake review of designs and reports. Check & verify design work undertaken by other team members. Coach and mentor junior staff in electrical engineering or project delivery. Provide leadership in Safety-in-Design (SID) and fulfilling legislative requirements in SID. Lead design projects and co-ordinate with various disciplines including civil, structural, geotechnical, secondary, drafting and control systems. Undertake short-term site visits according to business needs. Prepare proposals and contribute to business development for the team. About you: Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering) or Equivalent. Typically, 10-15 years' post-graduate experience. Existing RPEQ / RPEV or the ability to attain is required. Ideally experience in a consultancy environment. Experience in EHV and HV electrical engineering from conceptual to detailed design in substations, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities or renewable energy projects. Experience in client-facing roles, ability to provide robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues and risks.
