Bravus Mining & Resources is an Australian company dedicated to creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland communities.
We are recruiting for an Open-Cut Examiner for the Carmichael Mine, which is a 10mtpa coal mine located north-west of Clermont in central Queensland.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Open-Cut Examiner will be primarily responsible for overseeing the mining operations to ensure the safety and health of all personnel working in and around the open cut operation of our Carmichael mine and compliance with the requirements of the CMHSA across the mine.
This position will be based on site, working a 7 / 7 roster.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Undertake statutory inspections every shift within and adjacent to the CCM open cut operations.
Reduce unacceptable levels of risk and assist in developing, reviewing and auditing the Carmichael Coal mine's safety and health management system.
Use your mining knowledge to assist with coal quality, spontaneous combustion and CHPP interface issues on back shifts.
Assist in daily production plans with corresponding job safety analysis or risk assessments.
Understand the requirements and risk controls as outlined in the CCM SHMS.
Ensure the timely processing of all relevant documentation.
Promptly make safe any unsafe situation at the mine as per part 2 of the CMHSA Regs and adequately escalate any safety related issues as required to the Site Senior Executive that fails to have sufficient or timely resolution.
Meet Open Cut Examiners responsibilities as outlined in the Coal Mining Health and Safety Act 2004 and the Coal Mining Health and Safety Regulation 2017.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

Other qualifications and attributes required include:
Experience working in open cut coal mining environments.
Previous demonstrated experience in successfully managing and leading a team.
Must have a strong commitment to safe production and a proven understanding of mining and workplace relations legislations.
Proven ability to establish relationships with team members.
Ability to motivate people to achieve an outstanding outcome.
Computer and systems proficient.
Pre requisites:
Valid QLD CBM.
Valid Practicing QLD OCE examiner qualification issued under the Practicing Certificate Scheme (PCS).
Proof of compliance with PCS (Copy of current CPD hours accumulated under the PCS).
S1, S2, S3 and G2 qualifications updated within the last 5 years.
Valid First aid certificate including CPR.
Valid RIIENV301E certificate and OCE proficiency in Gas Monitoring.
