Production Engineering Technical Officer NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Production Engineering Technical Officer to join the Production department, working a 40-hour week on a 9-day fortnight basis.

The purpose of the Production Engineering Technical Officer role is to provide ongoing technical, process, and engineering support for the Production Department and Manager with respect to plant operations, asset and process performance, and strategic issues. Key responsibilities include:
Undertake routine plant performance testing, monitoring, and status reporting. Lead investigations to troubleshoot and optimise plant performance. Increase focus on plant-wide performance, station capacity, and operational improvement. Provide increased technical expertise across whole of site plant and processes. Support plant improvement projects. Provide strategic input to life of plant issues. This role will also support plant performance projects and investigations and drive the completion of identified improvement strategies to meet business objectives.
To be effective in the role, the candidate will be a valued team member with strong communication skills and the ability to influence and drive plant performance improvement outcomes across the business.
The successful applicant will have an Associate Diploma in Mechanical or Process Engineering or equivalent, qualifications in power generation and/or asset management, partnered with 5+ years of experience in heavy industry.
Additionally, NRG is looking for a suitable candidate who has a high level of power station knowledge and experience, problem-solving knowledge, and proven ability in applying investigative techniques.
The successful applicant will be required to have an understanding of workplace health and safety, and the ability to promote and maintain a safe work environment, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and understanding of risk management principles.
