The Role
Macquarie University (MQ) is recruiting for a new Program Officer to undertake a range of research, design, implementation and reporting activities to effectively deliver programs and initiatives on and off campus, and for schools and other community partners with which the University engages.
Reporting to and working with both the Outreach Coordinator and Transition Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to foster strong relationships with local schools and community organisations as well as MQ students and internal stakeholders to deliver pre-access, access, participation and transition programs and initiatives targeted at increasing traditionally underrepresented cohorts' access, participation and success in Higher Education. You will also assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of casual staff, who support the delivery of these initiatives.
The Program Officer's role is vital in enhancing Macquarie University's involvement and interest in being an inclusive community education partner and provider. You will also collaborate closely with MQ Facilities and professional teams in delivering the programs and initiatives provided by our University.

A relevant tertiary qualification and / or sustained relevant experience delivering outreach, access and transition programs.
Demonstrated capability to contribute to the design and delivery of outreach, access and transition programs and initiatives, with a focus on students from underrepresented cohorts, including students from low SES backgrounds, regional and remote areas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Experience in handling the logistical aspects of program delivery, including the ability to manage multiple competing tasks to meet time and resource constraints.
Demonstrated capability to exercise sound problem-solving skills and evaluative judgment in program facilitation, including the use of evaluation data to enhance outcomes and ensure continuous quality improvement of programs and initiatives.
Demonstrated capability to facilitate the development and management of strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly in partner schools and communities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate consideration of and respect for diverse audiences, including school children.
Demonstrated capability to contribute to an exemplary professional, collaborative, and innovative team environment. Work hours may vary from time to time and regional travel is required on occasion to accommodate business needs.
This position requires a paid employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a full driver's license.
