We are seeking a dynamic Senior Asset Strategist to play a key role in driving the success of our Asset Management Strategy and the implementation of our Asset Improvement Plan.
In this pivotal position, you will join our Asset Leadership team and be responsible for coordinating, delivering, and managing the implementation of our Strategic Asset Management (SAM) system. You will lead and support technical staff and asset practitioners in developing and maintaining asset-specific data and documentation, ensuring optimal asset management through best practice methodologies.
Your expertise will extend to managing consultant engagements and related services while fostering strong relationships through exceptional customer service.
Your key focus areas are:
Develop a roadmap and governance structure for prioritisation, development and implementation of initiatives to meet the objectives in the Asset Management Strategy and Policy. Plan and deliver a plan to improve Asset Management knowledge across the organisation, including clarity on roles and responsibilities to deliver effective asset management practices. Coordinate activities for development and improvement of asset databases and asset management systems. Develop the asset management improvement plan, using information from asset management plans and outcomes of asset management maturity audits, with input from asset owners and asset practitioners. Develop dashboards for reporting internally and externally on accountabilities for asset management Key Performance Indicators. Develop a roadmap for organisation-wide asset management literacy. Our ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in leading and guiding teams, managing complex projects with multiple deadlines, and achieving successful outcomes. You excel in strategic asset management, particularly in developing and maintaining asset management strategy plans, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and aligned with organisational goals.
Collaboration is at the heart of your approach, supported by exceptional communication skills that enable you to effectively engage with stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and tackle challenges with practical, solution-focused strategies.
You thrive in stakeholder engagement, operate autonomously, and proactively drive processes to completion. A proactive mindset, strong focus on meeting critical deadlines, and innovative thinking are essential to reimagining and advancing Asset Management practices.
You will leverage your strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving to design and manage programs of work that integrate seamlessly into strategic documentation and organisational objectives.
You will bring:
Degree qualifications in project planning, strategic planning, asset management, engineering, project management, business management and/or Asset Management Planning. Demonstrated strategic asset management experience, encompassing strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, in a local government context. Demonstrated project management skills, with ability to manage and lead multiple projects, meet strict deadlines and deliver identified outcomes. Strong knowledge and practical application of asset management principles and practices, including asset lifecycle costs and strategic asset planning. Demonstrated experience in identifying and using high level conflict resolution, problem solving, negotiation techniques, including engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
