Genesis is now seeking to employ a Senior Environmental Advisor to provide specialised environmental support and services to the Laverton Operations team consistent with minimising environmental and business risk, and in a manner that delivers on our environmental compliance obligations.
As the Senior Environmental Advisor, you will assist in driving cultural change within the workplace to ensure all personnel understand individual and company responsibilities with respect to environmental management. In addition, you will assist with coordination, training, and development of the site environmental management system. This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off (or a variation) Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Laverton.
The Opportunity Support the site team through provision of timely and relevant advice and education relating to environmental risk management and compliance requirements. Promote environmental awareness, leadership, and guidance on environmental matters to site-based personnel. Manage effective and timely internal and external environmental reporting. Assist in the delivery of environmental studies and work programmes, including the safe and effective management of contractors. Contribute to the collection, storage, and interpretation of quality environmental data. Taking accountability and responsibility for the site monitoring programme, ensuring quality deliverables for relevant reports and compliance with regulatory requirements. Carry out workplace environmental compliance inspections, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and support. Support the group in developing and obtaining applications for environmental approvals and licenses. Drive improvements to our site environmental management system and broader business projects. We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have : A tertiary qualification in Environmental science or equivalent. An excellent working understanding of environmental regulatory environments associated with the Mining Industry, best practice, and general environmental systems and procedures. Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and reconcile these with key business objectives. Strong ability to lead and work effectively as a team and with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated drive and initiative in the work you undertake. High level of computer literacy, including MS Office package, Monitoring Databases, and Geographical Information Systems.
