Our Learning for Life program provides emotional, practical and financial support to help children and young people experiencing disadvantage with their education.
As part of the Learning for Life team, the Remote Family Partnership Coordinator works within Western Australia to support geographically dispersed Learning for Life families, using referrals, links to programs and community relationships to support strong school attendance, achievement and post school pathways.
As a Family Partnership Coordinator, you will:
Take a family-centred approach, building partnerships with Learning for Life families Support families to engage with The Smith Family's suite of educational programs. Complete administrative tasks and data entry to help plan your day and focus your efforts Engage with community organisations, linking families to services, information and support Contribute as a valued member of a local Learning for Life Team, and collaborate with the broader organisation Focus on personal and professional growth including on-the-job skill development and regular coaching with your leader. Please note: Whilst this role supports students and families, it's important to note that such support is via a combination of phone and email communication with primary contacts. As this role is focused on supporting geographically dispersed families, it is unusual to have face-to-face contact with Learning for Life students or families.
About You
Family Partnership Coordinators come from varied backgrounds with different skills and experience. As well as passion for fostering student success, you will bring:
Experience building strong relationships with families and community stakeholders in roles such as a Family Support Worker, Community Engagement Worker, Social Worker or School Liaison Officer Effective interpersonal and communication skills Capability to work autonomously; organising your own day, problem solving and adapting when things don't go to plan Computer literacy and motivation; completing administrative or data entry tasks and achieving goals Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a National Police Check and a Working with Children's Check.
