Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
The Executive Manager Grants, Governance & Compliance leads grant acquisition, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include managing grants, ensuring legal adherence, implementing risk management, and collaborating with donors and government bodies. Strong financial management, leadership, and strategic skills are essential, alongside team mentoring and upholding high ethical standards to align operations with the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities Include :
Help develop and achieve WACHS strategy and business plans, focusing on governance, compliance, and identifying strategic risks. Build and manage a compliance framework to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met. Support the organization's approach to risk and its risk culture. Communicate risk and compliance issues clearly, ensuring timely reporting and escalation as needed, including regular updates to the Board and relevant committees. Oversee quality and assurance efforts, including creating and maintaining policies and procedures. Lead the Risk & Compliance team, setting goals and performance expectations. Skills, Experience & Mandatory Requirements :
Experience in identifying, applying for, and managing grants. Strong understanding of governance frameworks and policy development. Thorough knowledge of legal / regulatory frameworks and ensuring compliance. Ability to implement and manage risk frameworks and assessments. Strong financial literacy, including managing budgets and grant funds. Skilled in building relationships with donors, government bodies, and other stakeholders. Proven leadership experience with ability to manage and mentor teams. Experience in long-term strategic planning for governance and compliance. Strong ability to develop and present reports to boards and stakeholders. Commitment to transparency, ethics, and organizational accountability. A Current National Police Check. A Current Working With Children Check NSW. Current Driver's License that allows you to drive in Australia. COVID-19 Vaccination with Booster Information. #J-18808-Ljbffr
