About the role As the Compliance Manager at ARA Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation operates in line with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Based in our Crows Nest office in NSW, this full-time position reports directly to the CEO.
What you'll be doing Implementing and monitoring compliance policies and procedures to mitigate legal and regulatory risks Tracking changes in relevant legislation and industry regulations and proactively updating the company's compliance approach Conducting audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of compliance measures and identify areas for improvement Providing expert guidance and support to departments on compliance-related matters Preparing comprehensive compliance reports for the CEO Managing complex payroll tax compliance, including managing multi-state tax compliance requirements Overseeing subcontractor and employee classification compliance Conducting regular internal audits and risk assessments Collaborating with legal, operations, finance, and senior management teams Monitoring subcontractor payment compliance, including verifying accurate classification of workers (employees vs. subcontractors), monitoring payment schedules and contractual payment terms Implementing controls to prevent payroll discrepancies and misclassification What we're looking for Extensive experience (8+ years) in a compliance role, ideally within the trades industry Thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including workplace health and safety, environmental protection, and quality assurance Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective compliance frameworks Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and persuade Tertiary qualifications in Finance, law, business, or a related field What we offer At ARA Group, we offer a competitive salary, generous benefits, and a supportive, collaborative work environment.
