We are seeking a dedicated Electorate Officer to support Mr. David Kempton, Member for Cook, and engage with our vibrant community in our Cairns Office!
Your primary objectives will be to:
Provide direct secretarial, executive, and administrative support to Mr. Kempton MP Support and engage with constituents and community groups General administration of the daily operations of the electorate office Your duties and responsibilities as an Electorate Officer will include:
Executive Support: Managing the Member's diary, appointments, meetings, and stakeholder coordination; preparing briefing notes and conducting research.
Media Management: Monitoring media and community issues, handling media requests.
Travel Coordination: Coordinating travel, managing travel claims, and maintaining accurate records and data entry of expenses.
Community Engagement: Managing enquiries from constituents and community groups, providing information on public services and policies, developing community networks, conducting research on constituent issues, and coordinating community meetings and events.
Your key strengths will be:
Previous experience in a parliamentary or local government office is advantageous Strong organisational and time management skills Advanced written and oral communication skills Strong leadership and team motivation skills Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse groups Good knowledge of Queensland political and current affairs or willingness to learn How to apply:
