EL1 Strategic Communications Manager
Duties
Develop and execute comprehensive, fit-for-purpose communications strategies, including for program announcements and high-profile policy developments and activities.
Undertake procurement and contract management for suppliers, including communications and media buying.
Collaborate with specialists (design, digital, audio-visual, media) across the branch to implement communications strategies.
Undertake editorial services and content creation for the department and our Ministers, including web content, social media content, internal communications, publications and marketing material.
Mentor and build capability among team members and supervise staff.
Key Capabilities
Have demonstrated experience in communications account management, including developing and implementing communication strategies.
Have demonstrated experience in procurement and managing creative and advertising suppliers.
Be a strong strategic thinker, able to consider projects holistically as well as how they might relate to other bodies of work.
Be a strong project manager, with demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities and delivering work to a high standard.
Have a proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including highly-developed stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent writing skills, including accessibility, readability and attention to detail.
