Group Operations Finance
Is part of the Financial Services Division and supports the Chief Operations Office, Property, Procurement, and the Groups Support Units. It is responsible for coordinating the Group's long-term approach to simplification and cost reduction.
Group Support Services Finance (GSSF)
Is part of Group Operations finance and partners with the senior leadership of the bank's Financial Services, Marketing, Strategy (including x15ventures), Risk, Human Resources, and Legal functions. The GSSF team manages the end-to-end finance functions for these businesses and collaborates regularly with other Business Unit and Group finance teams throughout the organisation. The team manages an annual P&L spend of ~$1.5b with direct engagement/exposure to ~40% of the Bank's senior leadership team.

You will be reporting into the General Manager, Group Support Services Finance, who reports to the EGM Group Operations Finance. You will lead a team of five people but will leverage resources and skillsets across the broader GSSF team and organisation.

This role is primarily responsible for providing end-to-end financial support for three of the Group's Support Units: Human Resources, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, and Legal & Group Secretariat.
Financial support includes managing all aspects of Finance for the business including Business Planning, Forecasting, Financial Control, and Advisory. You will support 20+ senior leaders with business analysis and advice. This role is seen as a key finance interface with the finance functions of other divisions within the CBA Group.
Key responsibilities can be divided across business partnering, leadership, and financial control:
Business Partnering - HR, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Legal & Group Secretariat: Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. Articulate key business drivers, provide critical insights to drive debate, and deliver value-add analysis to key stakeholders. Design and oversight of key resource allocation processes including budgeting, investments, and Agile people management. Ensuring Business productivity agendas are well embedded in Business Plans. Clear communication of Support Unit allocations to business units and other stakeholders. Team Leadership: Thought leadership and collaboration across Finance and Business stakeholders to drive business outcomes. Effectively assess, prioritise and manage team workload and optimise resourcing. Constructively challenge the status quo in pursuit of opportunities for business and process improvements. Coach, mentor, develop and set clear expectations for team members within the team and across the broader Group Operations function. Drive team goals and priorities including a strong and vibrant team culture. Work with the wider GSSF team, in particular the Centre Finance team, to embed a culture of innovation and productivity. Financial Control: Financial reporting (both P&L and Balance Sheet) is well controlled and disciplined. Effective, efficient controls and governance in place, enabling accuracy and completeness. Liaising with Group Accounting Policy, Tax and other teams to assess appropriate accounting treatment where relevant. We are interested in hearing from people who have:
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and senior stakeholder management. Proven leadership skills, able to motivate, develop and build high performing teams. Aptitude for solving complex business problems and ability to thrive whilst managing ambiguous situations. Excellent customer & continuous improvement focus. Experience in delivering high-quality, insightful reporting within tight deadlines. Outcomes focused mindset. Experience with driving process transformation/re-engineering. Understanding of waterfall and Agile working methodologies (highly regarded, not essential). CA / CPA / CFA Qualified.
