Pine Rivers State High School has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to join our team as the Head of Department (Secondary) with a focus on Teaching and Learning, commencing 23 January 2025.
The successful applicant will be well-informed on current educational and leadership research and contribute to the design and development of our school's new pedagogical approach. This is a temporary full-time position for Semester 1, 2025, unless otherwise determined.

As the Head of Department (Secondary) with a focus on Teaching and Learning you will:
Be innovative and creative in thought and remain abreast of current educational and leadership research, leading action-based research in the area of pedagogy. Contribute to the design and development of our school's new Pedagogical Framework. Develop a culture of improvement in teaching and learning by placing learning at the centre of strategic and operational planning. Promote a strong collegial culture of mutual trust and high expectations whereby staff feel supported to share effective teaching and learning practices. Foster a culture of creativity and critical reflection with open and dynamic conversations occurring within and across the school's leadership team and within faculties. The Head of Department (Secondary) with a focus on Teaching and Learning will also be responsible to:
Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
