Office of the Director-General; Brisbane City We're looking for an exceptional chief executive to lead the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism (DWATSIPM).
DWATSIPM is at the forefront of advancing gender equality by focusing on policy and leadership that enhances the lives of women and girls. The department oversees a comprehensive approach to fostering the economic and social integration of culturally diverse Queenslanders and delivering programs and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
As a chief executive in the Queensland Government, you will play a significant role in influencing the execution and successful delivery of the government's commitments and vision for Queensland.
Accountable to the Premier of Queensland and reporting to the responsible Minister, you will contribute to delivering outcomes for Queenslanders through your strategic vision, focused leadership, and transforming the implementation of policies, priorities, services or programs of the elected government.
As the Director-General of the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism, you will lead the department to achieve their objectives to:
foster an environment that allows for Queensland women to be economically secure and work proactively across agencies to close the gender pay gap lift living standards in Aboriginal communities and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly discrete First Nations communities where basic amenities are often limited facilitate an environment where multicultural communities want to call Queensland home by harnessing their skills and expertise and working together to build a prosperous, fair and harmonious Queensland. As the Director-General, you will: provide strategic leadership that demonstrates a clear and compelling vision of communication, governance and values-based management preserve and build productive working relationships with stakeholders, identifying tactful and diplomatic management practices mobilise effective and efficient governance, administration and operation of the department, fostering an environment of accountability coordinate the appropriate services required to ensure the Minister is positioned to deliver the priorities set out in the Ministerial Charter Letter pursue with transparency the administration of the department's legislation to promote their purpose, encouraging innovation model to the highest level, the standards of ethical behaviour operating with transparency in decision making lead through awareness, demonstrating clear rationale to exemplary problem solving and decision-making practices.
