Role Overview As the Team Leader, Platforms and Development Services, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our enterprise platforms, guiding the team responsible for managing environment services and application development across the Department.
You'll oversee the planning, design, and delivery of : Environment Management & Administration : leading services across shared development, middleware, and integration platforms. Application Development : Ensuring the successful delivery of application services across our diverse portfolio. The Team Leader, Platforms and Development Services considers strategic, architectural, business, and operational inputs in guiding the direction of existing and future development, middleware, and integration platforms, which are primarily hosted in the AWS Cloud.
About You To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualities :
Lead Platform & Application Services : Manage environment administration and oversee application development services for the Department's portfolio, focusing on shared development, middleware, and integration platforms. Cloud Modernisation & SDLC Improvement : Guide the modernisation of cloud-hosted platforms (primarily AWS), while updating processes and the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) to enhance efficiency. Strategic Leadership & Continuous Improvement : Use strategic, architectural, and operational inputs to shape the future of development platforms, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across Information Services. Stakeholder Engagement & Service Delivery : Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (e.g., technical owners, project delivery) and external service providers, ensuring high service levels and seamless collaboration. Qualifications / Experience Formal qualifications in an IT related discipline, or equivalent experience is desirable. Systems and Software Life Cycle Engineering (SLEN) : Level 6. Technology Service Management (ITMG) : Level 4. Systems Integration and Build (SINT) : Level 5. Special Conditions A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years. This role requires occasional out of hours and weekend work. Some intra / interstate travel may be required.
