The Global Finance Manager is a newly created role, created to support our growth target in the next 3 years. This role will be responsible for all financial operations across multiple regions, working with a small finance team in AU, NZ & US. This role requires a continuous improvement mindset, continually identifying & recommending any potential improvements in various areas through process & tools.
We have a big focus on integrity of our accounts; if you excel at 'reconciliation' (reconciliation mindset), you will be the perfect fit for us. Strong experience in consolidated reporting in a multiple currency environment & building (including mentoring) a team in the SaaS scale-up phase will also be key to your success in this role.
This role will work closely & report directly to the Head of Finance, assisting with various value-add projects to drive efficiency & transparency in the business.
As part of this role you will:
Oversee billings & collections process to ensure billings are complete & accurate, including maintenance of DBO as per company policy. Oversee accounts payable to ensure correct billings by suppliers and act as a first approver for payments, ensuring our payments policy (including verifications for new suppliers) is enforced. Oversee payroll function for all entities, ensuring accurate payroll is processed (including reconciliations, checks & journals). Continuously identify any opportunities for improvement and/or potential risks & recommend solutions to the manager & the team. Month End Close:
Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (working day 7), including commentary & variance analysis. Coordinate with regional finance teams to consolidate financial statements. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses. Ensure all intercompany transactions are reconciled and accurately reported. Ensure all balance sheet items are reconciled for each entity (and rolled-up at a consolidated level). Review & complete growth & management reporting for Head of Finance to review & sign off. Continuously identify any opportunities for improvement (process, checks and/or speed of closing) and/or potential risks & recommend solutions to the team. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, regional, and global financial regulations and standards for payroll-related obligations & indirect taxes (Sales & Use Tax, GST, PAYG, payroll taxes, superannuation/kiwisaver, 401k). Work with our external advisors to prepare R&D, Income Tax and other reporting (if applicable, such as EMDG, etc.). Involved in the annual preparation of audited financials, working with Head of Finance & auditor to ensure deadlines are met. Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Any other reporting obligations as required. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Work with Head of Finance to develop yearly budget, liaising with cross-functional department heads. Implement the approved yearly budget into the financial systems & build it into the monthly financial reporting. Responsible for rolling forecast (next 12 months). Responsible for cash management & cash flow forecasting. Other:
Management of 3 direct reports in AU, NZ & US (plus outsourced bookkeeper). Ad-hoc projects from time to time as required by the company. Proven experience in this area is highly desirable. To be successful in this role, you will require the following:
CPA or CA qualification. Experience in managing global entities, ideally in a SaaS scaling environment (2 years in management level). Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial regulations. Proficiency in financial analysis, transfer pricing, compliance, and SaaS metrics, with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead change. Proven experience in managing a small team (coaching, mentoring & building a team) will be crucial to this role. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and team building (and management) skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in the following software highly regarded: Xero, Fathom, Airwallex, Hubspot, BI tool (Looker Studio / Power BI). Advanced Excel / G-sheet skills, comfortable with analysis & financial modelling. Budgeting & forecasting experience, working with various budget owners. You are highly goal-driven and work well in fast-paced environments.
